Born in France, Marion M. Bordier came to Canada in 1972. She studied Spanish literature at Concordia University in Montreal and settled in Ottawa in 1977. Two years later, she became a Canadian citizen and graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours B.A. in Visual Arts. She is a regular participant in major international group and solo exhibitions in Canada, France, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Chile, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Cuba. She also actively involves herself in a wide variety of collaborative projects, many of which have displayed her talent as a curator. Earlier this year, Ms. Bordier was invited to participate in the Biennial Barro de América at the Museum of Contemporary Art Sofía Imber in Caracas, Venezuela and in 2002, she will be included in the Triennale de Photografie to be held in Hamburg, Germany.

Ms. Bordier's work appears in the collections of many public agencies and institutions: Foreign Affairs & International Trade, the National Library of Canada, the Canada Council Art Bank, the Art Gallery of Ontario Library, the City of Ottawa, the Fotoeca of Cuba and the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography. She is a long-standing instructor in both the general and diploma programs at the Ottawa School of Art.
