Gail Bourgeois employs drawing and painting as her means of expression. The wrapped trees and landscapes depicted in her artworks are records of a particular place at a particular time or they can be an imagined place representing a search for meaning in the world. Through her works, the artist records what she sees and invites people to think about the world around them, about nature and man’s place in it.

Gail Bourgeois holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University. Her work has been shown professionally since 1985, in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and in Europe. Her commitment to cultural practices includes curating and publishing in leading Canadian and British catalogues and art journals. For more than fifteen years, she has developed and taught university lecture courses in addition to courses in painting and drawing. She is currently teaching at the Ottawa School of Art where she coordinates the Diploma Program.
