Ken Finch graduated in Fine Arts from the Ontario College of Art in 1963. Since 1975, he has taught drawing and painting at the Ottawa School of Art and in the Diploma Program at Algonquin College and was the recipient of a Special Certificate of Appreciation for his contribution to their Fine Arts Program. He has conducted numerous workshops in Ottawa, and was featured on Carleton University's Continuing Education Series "Brave New Universe". He also appeared on the CBC Arts Program Rockburn and Company in 1996.

Ken has served on the Board of Directors as Faculty Representative and appointed Chairman of the Program Committee, Ottawa School of Art. In 1985, he developed an intensive studies program for the Ottawa School of Art, which was awarded an Ontario Arts Council Grant. From 1980 to 1982, Ken was Chairman of the Committee of Concern for a Regional Visual Performing Arts Centre, now Arts Court and the Ottawa Art Gallery. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Canadian Artist's Representation of Ottawa (CARO).

Ken is a Fellow Member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society; in 1989 he received an award for excellence in painting, and in 1998 the Presidents Choice Award. He has had group and solo exhibitions at a number of venues in the Ottawa Region. His home and studio is near Metcalfe, Ontario.
