Ottawa School of Art Instructor’s Exhibit of 2004 showcases Professional Artists, distinguished history of School
Presented by the Ottawa School of Art Gallery, August 12 th – September 11 th. The opening will take place on Thursday, August 12 th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Ottawa, On (July 21, 2004) The Ottawa School of Art presents the annual Instructor’s Exhibition of new works by its professional artist faculty from both the school’s General and Diploma programs . The participating instructors in this year’s show are Gérard Bélec, Erin Robertson, Blair Sharpe, Mahshid Farhoudi-DiMarco, Penelope Kokkinos, Cynthia O’Brien, Ruth Secunda, Carol Weidman, Rob Hinchley, Naz Ikramullah, Lucia De Marinis, Gail Bourgeois, Bryna P. Cohen, Andrew Fay, Gerald Smith, Pamela Cockcroft-Lasserre, Morton Baslaw, Leonard Gerbrant, Yves M. Larocque, Dawn Dale, Jeff Stellick, Christopher Healey, Kathy Gillis, Robert Hyndman, Fabio Cattelan, Margaret Boyle , Helen Beauchamp, Deidre Hierlihy, and Erika Connor.
The Exhibition marks the 125 th Anniversary of the school, where such historically important artists such as F.H. Varley and Robert Harris have taught, and renowned Canadian Artists such as Dawn Dale, Blair Sharpe and Morton Baslaw still rub elbows with students to this day.
“The Ottawa School of Art is unique amongst art colleges in Canada.” Comments Chris Healey, Gallery Officer for the School “As well as our Diploma Programs, we have the single largest range of community level courses that anyone at any level at any age can take- all of our courses are taught by professional artists. The Instructor’s exhibit has been very popular and gives the community a chance to see just a little bit of what everybody here does.”
The Ottawa School of Art is located at 35 George Street in the Byward Market. Look for the totem pole. Admission is free.

Ottawa (ON) , août 2004 – L’École d’Art d’Ottawa présente l’exposition annuelle des instructeurs, vitrine des œuvres des artistes professionnels qui forment le corps professoral de ses deux programmes, le général et celui du diplôme. L’exposition célèbre le 125 e anniversaire de l’école, là où des artistes d’une importance historique, comme F.H. Varley et Robert Harris, ont enseigné, et où des artistes canadiens de grande renommée, comme Dawn Dale, Blair Sharpe et Morton Baslaw, continuent aujourd’hui encore de côtoyer les étudiants.
