Art Exhibition Offers Perspective on School's Graduates

The Ottawa School of Art is pleased to present "Ottawa School of Art Student Alumni Exhibition", a group exhibition of works of art by graduates of Ottawa's historic school of art. Both past and recent alumni will be included in what promises to be a diverse and dynamic selection of works by artists who have emerged from the school's 3-year Diploma of Fine Arts Program.

This is the first ever exhibition organized by and for Ottawa School of Art Alumni, which has generated a lot of interest in terms of providing a showcase for the collective work of such a diverse group. The Diploma Program was inaugurated in 1988 and since then, many students have graduated from the studio-based program. This juried exhibition is a tribute to the affection and dedication so typical of the Ottawa School of Art community.

"The Alumni are a tremendous resource for the school and community," explains Lynda Cronin, Exhibition Curator. "They have gone into the world along various paths, and it will be great for current and future students to see many of them exhibiting in the school gallery. We hope this becomes an annual event, demonstrating to our Diploma students that the School can be a part of their lives throughout their careers."

The vernissage for this exhibition will be held on Thursday, November 1st, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The Ottawa School of Art is located at 35 George Street in the Byward Market. Admission is free.
