His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D. Governor General of Canada is a Patron of the Ottawa School of Art. The Governor General is happy to lend his general endorsement to the Ottawa School of Art, continuing a tradition of vice-regal patronage of Ottawa’s venerable 130-years old institute. The first Patron of the School was the Marquis of Lorne and the Princess Louise (1879-1883), followed by the Marquis of Lansdowne (1884-1887), Lord Stanley (1888-1893), and Earl of Aberdeen (1893-1898). Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean was the last Governor General to act as patron of
the School.

Son Excellence le très honorable David Johnston, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D., Gouverneur général du Canada est mécène de l’École d’art d’Ottawa. Le Gouverneur général est heureux de donner son appui à l’École d’art d’Ottawa, poursuivant ainsi la tradition d’un mécénat viceroyal ayant marqué l’histoire de la vénérable institution depuis 130 ans. Les premiers mécènes de l’École ont été le marquis de Lorne et la princesse Louise (1879-1883), suivis du marquis de Lansdowne (1884-1887), de Lord Stanley (1888-1893) et de Lord Aberdeen (1893-1898). Son Excellence la très honorable Michaëlle Jean a été le dernier Gouverneur générale à être mécène de l’École.
