This tri-semester program is designed to assist the children in developing their artistic expression and art history knowledge. Children will work, when possible on the easel and build their artistic skills by exploring various materials such as ink, paint, pastels, conté, and charcoal. During each term we will look at different time period in art history, and explore some artists’ ideas. Our in class projects will reflect what we’ve learned and will be inspired by the artist’s art. This will allow the students to continuously expand on their artistic skills while learning about great artists such as Monet, Van Gogh, Michelangelo and Georgia O’Keeffe. Emphasis will be put on the creative process.
