This course is designed to provide the student with an overall knowledge of the program’s environment and capabilities. It will focus on the main features and demonstrate how to access the multitude of choices and possibilities available to the user. Working with photos; creating art work and collages; altering images for the web and other exercises will be done in the class.

This introductory course gives participants a solid understanding of the work involved in creating and manipulating digital images for different environments. Covering all important aspects of the medium, sessions are step-by-step examinations through the technical notions of the computer darkroom and are guided to specifically understand the creative use of the digital tools.
Upon completion of this course, participants learn the basic skills to work with the rich possibilities that the digital world has to offer and have a sound background of the medium for further exploration.
