The OSA is pleased to present Winnipeg artist Diana Thorneycroft and her work “The Canadiana Martyrdom Series” as this year’s visiting artist from October 15 to November 22, 2009. In addition to continuing the annual visiting artist tradition, the OSA will be launching its first ever online exhibition catalogue for members of the public to have broader access to viewing the Series and providing feedback to the artist. Thorneycroft has also created a special 130th anniversary commissioned piece for the Ottawa School of Art which will be unveiled at the vernissage on Thursday, October 15 at 5 p.m. Limited edition prints of this piece will be available to the public for purchase for a limited period of time.

L’ÉAO est heureuse d’accueillir l’artiste de Winnipeg, Diana Thorneycroft, et de présenter son oeuvre « The Canadiana Martyrdom Series » dans le cadre de son Programme de visites d’artistes du 15 octobre au 22 novembre 2009. En plus de poursuivre la tradition de ce programme, l’ÉAO mettra en ligne pour la première fois le catalogue de l’exposition pour que le public ait plus facilement accès à la série et puisse donner des commentaires à l’artiste. Thorneycroft a aussi créé une oeuvre de commande spécialement pour le 130e anniversaire de l’École d’art d’Ottawa qui sera dévoilée lors du vernissage le jeudi 15 octobre à 17 h. Le public pourra se procurer des photographies à tirage limité de cette oeuvre pendant une certaine période.
