ARTIST STATEMENT

“A glimpse back to childhood, a fleeting memory all but forgotten;  a simpler time, a peaceful spot, a joyful moment – all inspire me.  Whether person, place or thing,a subject attracts me for its sentimental value.”

Virginia was born in Peterborough, lived in Toronto, and for the past 20 years Blackburn Hamlet has been home.

A retired software developer, she dabbled in oils years ago and returned to painting in 2008. Rediscovering her love of painting, she has taken numerous courses and workshops in various media, and is currently enjoying watercolour and drawing classes.

As a member of Arteast and AOE Arts Council, Virginia participates in many art-related events and shows.
