017B | ORIENTAL PAINTING AND CALLIGRAPHY | INTRO - INTER
Painting with ink and brush, also called “Sumi-e” and based upon the Breathing Brush Method developed by Ottawa Sumi-e artist, Mme. Tomoko Kodama. You will learn to create the unique strokes that combine to become an ink painting in the Asian style. As you progress, you will understand and appreciate how this innovative method makes it easy for North American students to create beautiful ink works, in classical as well as contemporary styles.
