050 | INTRO TO BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY | INTRO
This workshop is for people interested in learning the general practicalities of traditional photography. Starting with the very basics of the medium and following its course from beginning to end participants will understand the ins and outs of the photographic process. With sessions covering full explanations of the camera and the B&W darkroom, slide presentations and open discussions, participants will develop the necessary skills to solve technical problems and learn the know-how of visual composition.

052 | INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY
This workshop is an in depth view oriented to fully understand the black and white photographic process. Reviewing all its aspects participants will learn to set and control quality standards and apply those principles to better express their ideas photographically. While participants are expected to have basic notions of photography a review of the camera and darkroom is included. Other aspects of photography are also covered such as creating and working in a home studio, controlling several sources of light in addition to discussions regarding the work of great photographers. With hands-on sessions and slide presentations, participants gain experience and ability to work in photographic essays and communicate in visual narratives. They will understand visual composition and will be guided to build a portfolio while encouraged to develop a personal voice through the study of different subjects and styles.

051 | PHOTOGRAPHY | INTRO/INTER (B)
This basic black and white photography course is designed to get the casual shooter into feeling confident about their work, whether they prefer digital or film photography. The students will understand exposure, various exposure modes, composition and know the cameras operations all the way to processing their own prints. The students are more than welcome to use a film based Single lens reflex camera and/or even a digital Single lens reflex.
