This course covers concepts of drawing and design that give students a greater advantage when submitting portfolios. Through class work and assignments, the instructor will suggest portfolio content and will instruct on how to improve necessary skills. Personal consultation will be provided on students existing portfolio and application projects.

The Introduction to Art Therapy is not only a must for those who are in the helping or teaching professions but for any artist who wants a better understanding of their own artistic abilities. This 8 week course will begin to help with a better understanding of how you work and why. The classes will include some theory, an art assessment, work as a group with existing case studies, hands-on experience, and guided imagery. We will create “lifeboxes” and learn a relaxation technique. There is a certificate given for attendance in this class.

Students will illustrate their own children’s book in the style and medium of their choice. They will write their own story or adapt one already known. The goal is to have a full-size sample (“dummy”) book by the end of the course. Part of each class will include teaching and evaluations by the teacher and class of each person’s progress to date.

In this course students develop their knowledge and skills in drawing and designing for animation, preparing portfolios for academic or job placement or for their own interest. Students will learn animation, character design, storyboard, etc. and will be given personal feedback and group instruction. Students will have access to professional animation artwork and films will be shown for design content.
