Hours: 37.5 hours weekly with occasional evening or weekend events (lieu time provided)
Location: Hybrid: on-site at ByWard Market and Orleans campus, Ottawa & remotely; equipment provided for remote options

Position Summary
This role is ideal for someone with a strong design eye and a passion for creating engaging, community-centered content. Because OSA operates across two campuses, online education, exhibitions, and outreach programs, the Digital Marketing Assistant must thrive in a multi-project environment and support content for multiple audiences simultaneously. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Officer to bring OSA’s artistic community to life across digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
Creating and scheduling social content (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Managing the content calendar and ensuring consistent posting across campuses.
Capturing and curating photo/video content during classes, events, and exhibitions.
Writing captions, tagging partners, and maintaining brand voice and accuracy.
Monitoring comments, messages, and interactions; engaging with followers professionally.
Proactively suggesting content ideas, trends, and campaigns.
Content Creation & Visual Design
Design and format graphics in Canva (or Adobe Suite) for social, web, and in-person content and collateral.
Ensure visual consistency: typography, spacing, layout, accessibility.
Capture, prepare, and organize photo/video assets for marketing use.
Support video content creation for Reels, Stories, and ads.
Website Updates
Create landing pages and update promotional banners.
Ensure website pages contain accurate information.
Refresh outdated content and maintain visual/brand alignment across pages.
Apply accessibility basics (alt text, readable formatting).
Digital Advertising Support
Prepare creative assets for Meta and Google ads.
Help organize UTM links for reporting.
Monitor comment engagement on ads.
Marketing Operations & Administrative Support
Maintain organized shared systems in Google Drive.
Support outreach, seasonal campaigns, exhibitions, and fundraising initiatives.
Assist with email list organization and segmentation to support CASL-compliant communications.
Provide general support to the Marketing Officer.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
Strong visual/design sensibility with experience using Canva or Adobe Suite.
Demonstrated experience managing social media pages (personal, school, freelance, or workplace).
Comfort engaging with students, instructors, and visitors to capture photos, gather stories, and support content development.
Ability to create, schedule, and optimize social content.
Strong short-form writing and editing skills.
Comfortable taking initiative, generating ideas, and working in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and comfort with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
Interest in content strategy, digital marketing, and web design.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Wix/WordPress, Canva/Adobe, Mailchimp/CyberImpact, and Meta Business Suite.
Photo/video editing skills (mobile apps or desktop).
Basic understanding of digital accessibility, UX design, and SEO fundamentals.
Bilingualism (English/French).
Passion for the arts or creative community engagement.
