About the event

The Ottawa School of Art ByWard Market Campus is proud to present “Birch Bark: Tradition and Transformation” an exhibition of works by Simon Brascoupé, Claire Brascoupé, Emily Brascoupé-Hoefler, and Mairi Brascoupé. This exhibition is on display from Thursday March 26 to Sunday May 10, 2026, in the J.W. Stellick Gallery located on the main floor of the Downtown Campus at 35 George St., in the ByWard Market.


 

“Birch Bark: Tradition and Transformation" explores the rich tradition and contemporary applications of birch bark in Anishinaabe Algonquin art. The Brascoupé family blends traditional knowledge with contemporary practice in this multi-disciplinary celebration of culture and creativity.
