Adopt-an-Art-Student Scholarship

ALL FULL-TIME 1st YEAR STUDENTS ENTERING
THE 2nd SEMESTER IN JANUARY 2003


Loomis & Toles Ltd. and the Ottawa School of Art are pleased to announce the second annual Loomis & Toles Adopt-an-Art-Student Scholarship for students studying on a full-time basis at the Ottawa School of Art. This year, two scholarships will be awarded. The terms of each scholarship are as follows:

  • Each scholarship is valued at $500 and will be awarded to the two students who best demonstrate their financial need, artistic talent and clear educational goals;

  • The scholarship will be disbursed in 4 monthly payments of $125 (January 2003 to April 2003 inclusive) plus gift certificates valued at a total of $100 for each winner, also to be distributed between January and April 2003; and

  • The scholarships will be awarded to two first year Diploma Program, Portfolio Development or Animation Certificate Program students entering the second semester of their first year of study at the Ottawa School of Art.

Note: The scholarships are intended for students enrolled in a full-time program. If the winner of the scholarship withdraws from full-time study at OSA, the balance of the scholarship and gift certificates will be returned to Loomis & Toles Ltd. The winning students will be photographed for publicity purposes by Loomis & Toles and will be asked to exhibit some of their artwork at the Loomis & Toles store.

Eligibility:

All first year Diploma, Portfolio Development and Animation Certificate Program students entering the second semester of their first year of study at the Ottawa School of Art are eligible to apply.

How to Apply:

Application forms are available from the Front Desk at the School. A completed application form must be submitted to the Executive Director, Ottawa School of Art, along with 5 original works of art.

Deadline for Applications:

Applications and artwork must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2003. The jury will meet during the week of March 3 and applicants will be able to pick up their artwork on Wednesday, March 5 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. The winners of the scholarships will be announced during the week of March 3, 2003 at the Loomis & Toles store at 499 Bank Street.
